The OnStar TTY hardware is offered at little or no additional cost through the GM Mobility Reimbursement Program for eligible subscribers.<\/p>\n<p>This dealer-installed option is available now on a wide range of 2007 model year GM vehicles including the Saturn Relay, Buick Terraza and Chevrolet Uplander.<\/p>\n<p>Most in-vehicle services are available through OnStar TTY, including a link to Emergency Services, Roadside Assistance and access to OnStar&#8217;s Hands-Free Calling capability. This system is an industry first, leveraging the combined capabilities of GM and OnStar to bring the benefits of OnStar to a larger segment of society.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If you are in need of help, you want to have confidence that you can communicate with OnStar and emergency personnel,&#8221; said OnStar President Chet Huber. &#8220;The TTY enabled system allows even more subscribers to take advantage of the added safety and security that comes with knowing OnStar is available in emergency situations.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The system links subscribers to trained TTY Advisors at OnStar&#8217;s call centers 24 hours a day, every day of the year.<\/p>\n<p>The TTY-enabled OnStar system comes equipped with three components &#8211; the OnStar Interface Module, a dial pad for making phone calls and a TTY device.<\/p>\n<p>In order to use the OnStar TTY system the vehicle must be stationary.<br \/>\nThis feature is designed to help prevent drivers from being distracted so that they can devote their full attention to driving safely.<\/p>\n<p>More information on this enhanced service can be found at www.onstar.com\/tty.
