POSITION SUMMARY:<\/p>\n
Under minimal supervision; engages and oversees the work of
\nindependent contractors who represent the Company\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s products
\nand services to deaf consumers in local communities. This position
\nbuilds relationships, and promotes customer awareness and loyalty
\nthrough effective outreach, marketing, sponsorships, and product
\nsupport services. This job requires in-depth familiarity with the deaf
\ncommunity and culture; knowledge of sales techniques, business
\noperations, and management principles; and familiarity with sales
\nchannels for products and services that support the communication
\nneeds of deaf people.<\/p>\n
Duties and Essential Job Functions:<\/p>\n
* Oversee the work of independent contractors who represent and
\nsupport the Company\u2019s products and services to customers in local
\nareas.<\/p>\n
* Train representatives on services, products, procedures, systems,
\ntechnology, and customer training. Promote effective sales behaviors
\nsuch as analyzing customer needs, qualifying customers, providing
\nsolutions, and ensuring customers understand products.<\/p>\n
* Communicate productivity goals, monitor contractors progress toward
\ngoals, and provide feedback on quality of work.<\/p>\n
* Perform community outreach. Build relationships within the deaf and
\nhard of hearing communities, provide services to agencies and schools,
\nand participate in a variety of events.<\/p>\n
* Work with contractors to resolve customer service issues and to
\nassist customers with technical issues.<\/p>\n
* Assist marketing team by traveling to tradeshows, events, and
\nconventions. Network with attendees, and promote company products and
\nservices.<\/p>\n
* Gather lead information from events, and feed into a system that
\ncontractors can access.<\/p>\n
* Correspond with contractors on a daily basis using extensive email
\nand videophone, and respond to issues or questions as they arise.
\nFacilitate or attend daily conference calls with contractors to
\ndiscuss issues, ideas, feedback, training and other matters.<\/p>\n
* Verify that contractors work is completed, and approve invoices,
\ntravel and expenses. Complete and process paperwork, and manage the
\nstandard contracting process.<\/p>\n
* Source and recruit new contractors using a variety of means such as
\nposters, agencies, schools, publications, networking, and outreach.
\nFind good quality representatives who are comfortable with technology,
\npossess leadership skills, and have strong connections throughout the
\ndeaf community. Enter into contracts with those who are best suited to
\nrepresent products, and are willing to commit.<\/p>\n
* Serve as point of contact for company sponsorship, select
\nsponsorship opportunities and enter into agreements.<\/p>\n
* Respond to escalated customer complaints, issues and questions.
\nPerform other duties and special projects as assigned.<\/p>\n
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:<\/p>\n
1. High School Diploma or G.E.D.; Associates degree (A.A.) or
\nBachelors Degree in Business Management or Communications related
\ndiscipline, preferred.<\/p>\n
2. Experience in sales and sales training. Supervisory experience is
\ndesirable<\/p>\n
3. Must be a self starter who can work independently without close
\nsupervision, and a self confident outreach professional who is
\ncomfortable approaching people in a variety of settings.<\/p>\n
4. Knowledge of relay services, products and how they function. Solid
\ncomfort level in working with various technologies and using
\nelectronic communication tools and devices.<\/p>\n
5. American Sign Language (ASL) proficiency, extensive knowledge of
\nthe deaf culture, and familiarity with products and services that
\nsupport the communication needs of deaf and hard of hearing people.<\/p>\n
6. Knowledge of and ability to use specialized software related to
\ndepartmental operations, including Internet, spreadsheet,
\npresentation, and word processing programs.<\/p>\n
7. Familiarity with Federal Communications Commission (FCC)
\nRegulations and Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) standards.<\/p>\n
8. Ability to communicate effectively, train contractors, present
\ninformation and respond to questions from clients, customers, and
\nmanagers.<\/p>\n
9. Planning skills to establish priorities and meet objectives, plus
\nthe flexibility to work evenings and weekends, and handle last minute
\nrequests.<\/p>\n
10. Ability to handle multiple, competing priorities and work
\neffectively under pressure.<\/p>\n
11. Basic mathematical skills including the ability to calculate
\nfigures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and
\npercentages.<\/p>\n
12. Knowledge of departmental operations, and organizational
\npolicies, processes and procedures, and ability to establish and
\ncommunicate goals and priorities.<\/p>\n
13. Human relations skills to build effective working relationships
\nwith company staff, contractors, customers, community groups and
\nindividuals.<\/p>\n
CERTIFICATES REQUIRED:<\/p>\n
Some positions may require valid State Drivers License.<\/p>\n
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:<\/p>\n
Employees may experience the following physical demands for extended
\nperiods of time:<\/p>\n
1. Sitting, standing and walking (95-100%)<\/p>\n
2. Keyboarding (40-60%)<\/p>\n
3. Viewing computer monitor, videophone, and pager requiring close
\nvision (40-60%)<\/p>\n
4. May be required to set up booths at events, requiring balance and
\nlifting up to (50 pounds), and may lift or move boxes (up to 10
\npounds)<\/p>\n
WORK ENVIRONMENT:<\/p>\n
Work is performed in a business office environment. Frequent travel
\nto company, customer and vendor sites, including some that are out of
\nstate is required.<\/p>\n
