This position<br \/>\nbuilds relationships, and promotes customer awareness and loyalty<br \/>\nthrough effective outreach, marketing, sponsorships, and product<br \/>\nsupport services. This job requires in-depth familiarity with the deaf<br \/>\ncommunity and culture; knowledge of sales techniques, business<br \/>\noperations, and management principles; and familiarity with sales<br \/>\nchannels for products and services that support the communication<br \/>\nneeds of deaf people.<\/p>\n<p>Duties and Essential Job Functions:<\/p>\n<p>* Oversee the work of independent contractors who represent and<br \/>\nsupport the Company\u2019s products and services to customers in local<br \/>\nareas.<\/p>\n<p>* Train representatives on services, products, procedures, systems,<br \/>\ntechnology, and customer training. Promote effective sales behaviors<br \/>\nsuch as analyzing customer needs, qualifying customers, providing<br \/>\nsolutions, and ensuring customers understand products.<\/p>\n<p>* Communicate productivity goals, monitor contractors progress toward<br \/>\ngoals, and provide feedback on quality of work.<\/p>\n<p>* Perform community outreach. Build relationships within the deaf and<br \/>\nhard of hearing communities, provide services to agencies and schools,<br \/>\nand participate in a variety of events.<\/p>\n<p>* Work with contractors to resolve customer service issues and to<br \/>\nassist customers with technical issues.<\/p>\n<p>* Assist marketing team by traveling to tradeshows, events, and<br \/>\nconventions. Network with attendees, and promote company products and<br \/>\nservices.<\/p>\n<p>* Gather lead information from events, and feed into a system that<br \/>\ncontractors can access.<\/p>\n<p>* Correspond with contractors on a daily basis using extensive email<br \/>\nand videophone, and respond to issues or questions as they arise.<br \/>\nFacilitate or attend daily conference calls with contractors to<br \/>\ndiscuss issues, ideas, feedback, training and other matters.<\/p>\n<p>* Verify that contractors work is completed, and approve invoices,<br \/>\ntravel and expenses. Complete and process paperwork, and manage the<br \/>\nstandard contracting process.<\/p>\n<p>* Source and recruit new contractors using a variety of means such as<br \/>\nposters, agencies, schools, publications, networking, and outreach.<br \/>\nFind good quality representatives who are comfortable with technology,<br \/>\npossess leadership skills, and have strong connections throughout the<br \/>\ndeaf community. Enter into contracts with those who are best suited to<br \/>\nrepresent products, and are willing to commit.<\/p>\n<p>* Serve as point of contact for company sponsorship, select<br \/>\nsponsorship opportunities and enter into agreements.<\/p>\n<p>* Respond to escalated customer complaints, issues and questions.<br \/>\nPerform other duties and special projects as assigned.<\/p>\n<p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:<\/p>\n<p>1. High School Diploma or G.E.D.; Associates degree (A.A.) or<br \/>\nBachelors Degree in Business Management or Communications related<br \/>\ndiscipline, preferred.<\/p>\n<p>2. Experience in sales and sales training. Supervisory experience is<br \/>\ndesirable<\/p>\n<p>3. Must be a self starter who can work independently without close<br \/>\nsupervision, and a self confident outreach professional who is<br \/>\ncomfortable approaching people in a variety of settings.<\/p>\n<p>4. Knowledge of relay services, products and how they function. Solid<br \/>\ncomfort level in working with various technologies and using<br \/>\nelectronic communication tools and devices.<\/p>\n<p>5. American Sign Language (ASL) proficiency, extensive knowledge of<br \/>\nthe deaf culture, and familiarity with products and services that<br \/>\nsupport the communication needs of deaf and hard of hearing people.<\/p>\n<p>6. Knowledge of and ability to use specialized software related to<br \/>\ndepartmental operations, including Internet, spreadsheet,<br \/>\npresentation, and word processing programs.<\/p>\n<p>7. Familiarity with Federal Communications Commission (FCC)<br \/>\nRegulations and Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) standards.<\/p>\n<p>8. Ability to communicate effectively, train contractors, present<br \/>\ninformation and respond to questions from clients, customers, and<br \/>\nmanagers.<\/p>\n<p>9. Planning skills to establish priorities and meet objectives, plus<br \/>\nthe flexibility to work evenings and weekends, and handle last minute<br \/>\nrequests.<\/p>\n<p>10. Ability to handle multiple, competing priorities and work<br \/>\neffectively under pressure.<\/p>\n<p>11. Basic mathematical skills including the ability to calculate<br \/>\nfigures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and<br \/>\npercentages.<\/p>\n<p>12. Knowledge of departmental operations, and organizational<br \/>\npolicies, processes and procedures, and ability to establish and<br \/>\ncommunicate goals and priorities.<\/p>\n<p>13. Human relations skills to build effective working relationships<br \/>\nwith company staff, contractors, customers, community groups and<br \/>\nindividuals.<\/p>\n<p>CERTIFICATES REQUIRED:<\/p>\n<p>Some positions may require valid State Drivers License.<\/p>\n<p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:<\/p>\n<p>Employees may experience the following physical demands for extended<br \/>\nperiods of time:<\/p>\n<p>1. Sitting, standing and walking (95-100%)<\/p>\n<p>2. Keyboarding (40-60%)<\/p>\n<p>3. Viewing computer monitor, videophone, and pager requiring close<br \/>\nvision (40-60%)<\/p>\n<p>4. May be required to set up booths at events, requiring balance and<br \/>\nlifting up to (50 pounds), and may lift or move boxes (up to 10<br \/>\npounds)<\/p>\n<p>WORK ENVIRONMENT:<\/p>\n<p>Work is performed in a business office environment.
