City Council Appoints Tracey Michol to Human Relations Commission<\/p>\n
FORT WORTH \u2014 Tracey Michol was appointed to serve as the city\u2019s
\nnewest Human Relations Commissioner at the Dec. 9 Fort Worth City
\nCouncil meeting. She is director of education for the Deaf Action
\nCenter in Dallas. She holds a B.S. in business administration from
\nGallaudet University in Washington, D.C., as well as an M.S. in deaf
\nstudies and deaf education from Lamar University in Beaumont.
\nThroughout her career she has served as an advocate for people with
\ndisabilities, with an emphasis on the deaf and hard of hearing.<\/p>\n
The Fort Worth Human Relations Commission advises the City Council
\nand city manager on matters involving discrimination. The 11-member
\ncommission recommends measures to help eliminate prejudice, and
\npromotes and encourages communication and cooperation between all
\ngroups interested in improving community relations. The Human
\nRelations Commission meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at 5:30
\np.m. in the City Council Pre-Council chamber in City Hall, 1000
\nThrockmorton St. in downtown Fort Worth. <\/p>\n
Meetings of the Fort Worth Human Relations Commission are open to the
