Happy January 2009! <\/p>\n
We trust your holidays were wonderful, and that you\u2019ve gotten off
\nto a great start to the New Year. This is the first of many more
\nupdates on what\u2019s happening with the NAD. <\/p>\n
On January 12, 2009, we posted a new four-part vlog message from NAD
\nPresident Bobbie Beth Scoggins titled \u201cImportant Message from the
\nNAD President\u201d. Here you will see in ASL what we shared earlier in
\nEnglish format. <\/p>\n

In this message, President Scoggins shares the serious financial
\nsituation the NAD faces and steps taken to offset the current
\noperating deficit, which was approximately $200,000 as of December
\n2008. On January 1, 2009, staff salaries and hours were reduced by
\n20%, among other cutbacks \u2013 for the next three months. We are
\nworking hard to raise needed funds, so that we can restore
\nHeadquarters operations to normal levels as quickly as possible. <\/p>\n
The NAD Board of Directors is meeting in Clearwater, Florida, January
\n23-24, 2009 at the Renaissance Inn by Marriott. Fundraising is a major
\nagenda item. The public, as always, is welcome to observe the board in
\naction. <\/p>\n
