Fort Worth Human Relations Commission\u2019s Recommendations are
\nResolution on City Council Agenda! <\/p>\n
Join us on Tuesday, January 27, 2009, in support of Item XII, Number
\n1 to be voted on by the Fort Worth City Council. The Resolution reads:<\/p>\n
A Resolution Accepting Recommendations Pertaining to City Services,
\nPolicies, Procedures and Accommodations for the Deaf and Hard of
\nHearing. <\/p>\n
This is the moment many in the deaf and hard of hearing community
\nalong with members of the hearing community and the Commission have
\nworked for. It is an important step for the City of Fort Worth and
\nNorth Texas, because it represents badly needed changes for those
\npersons who are deaf, hard of hearing, who are losing their hearing
\nlater in life, and for people with disabilities. Bring family and
\nfriends to witness this important time in our history. <\/p>\n
The Fort Worth City Council Meeting will begin at 10:00 AM in the
\nCity Council Chambers in City Hall at 1000 Throckmorton Street in
\nDowntown Fort Worth on Tuesday, January 27, 2009. <\/p>\n

On January 13, 2009, Estrus Tucker, Chair of the Human Relations
\nCommission presented the Commission\u2019s recommendations to the City
\nCouncil. The meeting was well attended by the deaf and hard of hearing
\ncommunity. Many witnessed how important their input was in making the
\nrecommendations and this resolution possible. We look forward to
\nseeing you on the 27th. <\/p>\n
