\npresentation for Deaf and Hard of Hearing People family members and
\ncaregivers. <\/p>\n
Memory loss that disrupts daily life is not a normal part of aging.
\nBut when is it normal memory loss and when is it Alzheimer’s? <\/p>\n
This program will enhance each individual’s knowledge concerning the
\ncognitive changes associated with aging, and how they differ from the
\nchanges caused by Alzheimer’s and Dementia. This program will also
\ncover the consequences of dementia, the impact of diagnosis and
\ntreatment of Alzheimer’s disease. After this program, the participants
\nwill be able to differentiate between normal age-related cognitive
\nchanges and Alzheimer’s disease and dementia related changes,
\ndifferentiate between Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, identify the
\nwarning signs of Alzheimer’s disease and describe the process of
\ndiagnosis and treatment. <\/p>\n
Katie Olson is the speaker and is the Community Education and
\nOutreach Coordinator for the Alzheimer’s Association, Houston and
\nSoutheast Texas Chapter. <\/p>\n
Audience – This free presentation is designed for deaf and hard of
\nhearing individuals, family members and their caregivers. <\/p>\n
Accommodations – Sign Language Interpreters and C.A.R.T. will be
\nprovided. Other accommodations should be requested by February 03,
