Interpreter Coordinator Job Opening<\/p>\n
Title: Interpreter Coordinator (full-time position)<\/p>\n
Position Summary: Responsible for the daily scheduling of
\ninterpreters & general administrative duties.<\/p>\n
Essential Duties:<\/p>\n
* Schedule appropriate interpreter for interpreting requests
\nreceived, with regard to the client, language use and setting.<\/p>\n
* Communicate assignment information to interpreter and confirm with
\nclient.<\/p>\n
* Coordinate schedules of office staff and on-call interpreters.<\/p>\n
* Field telephone calls and resolve questions or needs through
\nscheduling and advocacy.<\/p>\n
* Maintain documentation related to requests and assignments.<\/p>\n
* Perform general clerical duties to include, but not limited to:
\nphotocopying, faxing, mailing, and filing.<\/p>\n
* Meet and greet clients and visitors.<\/p>\n
* Research, price, and purchase office furniture and supplies.<\/p>\n
* Assist with office projects such as workshops, trainings, advocacy,
\netc.<\/p>\n
* Other duties as assigned.<\/p>\n
Requirements:<\/p>\n
Education:<\/p>\n
_x_High School Diploma or Equivalent<\/p>\n
(Some college preferred)<\/p>\n
Course of study:<\/p>\n
_x_ Specific: Courses in deafness and\/or ASL preferred, but not
\nnecessary.<\/p>\n
Experience:<\/p>\n
Experience with administrative duties and\/or deafness preferred.<\/p>\n
Skills and Abilities:<\/p>\n
The ideal candidate will have:<\/p>\n
_x_ communication skills<\/p>\n
_x_ interpersonal skills<\/p>\n
_x_ organizational skills<\/p>\n
_x_ computer skills \u2013fluency in Microsoft Office<\/p>\n
_x_ other skills: Basic knowledge of Deaf culture, ASL, & the ADA<\/p>\n
