JMAVRS will provide an excellent video relay service. You can use
\nJMAVRS to call any hearing person. JMAVRS.TV will be installed on
\neither 100-VP or 200-VP speed list.<\/p>\n
The JMA students and staff will be greatly appreicate your support
\nfor the school programs to be expanded in the near future.<\/p>\n
WHAT IS JMA?<\/p>\n
Jean Massieu Academy is an open-enrollment charter school that was
\nopened in August 1999 to serve deaf, hard of hearing and their
\nnon-deaf siblings or peers, from pre-K through 12 grades. JMA is
\nunique because we are a school of choice providing all instruction in
\nAmerican Sign Language (ASL) creates are equitable communicat5ion
\nenvironment for our students and staff. At JMA, all staff and
\nstudents, whether deaf or not deaf, communicate freely using ASL. The
\nbilingual environment removes communicatrion barriers that normally
\nexist for deaf and hard of hearing students within the traditional
\npublic school systems. We believe that the bilingual communication
\nenvironment that exists at JMA a greatly and enhanced our students”
\nacademic performances. This is clearly evidence by the “can-do”
\nattitude among our students.<\/p>\n
