Scarborough Faire and MIS are looking for a few good interpreters who
\nwould like to have fun while interpreting!<\/p>\n
Would you like to interpret at Scarborough Faire? (Waxahachie, Texas)<\/p>\n
Saturday, April 4th is being advertised as “Deaf Awareness Day” at
\nScarborough Faire. This will be an opportunity for everyone to come
\nout and have fun with the actors at Scarborough Faire. You do not have
\nto be certified. If you are an interpreting practicum student, a
\nnative signer, or someone very confident in their own interpreting
\nskills and would like to have the opportunity to interpret for the
\npublic (which, of course, will include those who are deaf.), then
\nplease email Lauren at lauren@mis-interpreting.com<\/p>\n
Mind you, this will not be a totally volunteer event. The Faire will
\nbe open from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. For coming to interpret, each
\ninterpreter will receive a T-shirt (which we will all wear the day we
\nare working), a coupon for a turkey leg and a drink, and a ticket to
\nreturn just for fun!<\/p>\n
Overall, each act is 30 minutes long and they perform four times a
\nday. The rest of the time, you can roam through the park and assist
\nthe patrons in the arts and crafts booths or watch other interpreters
\nwork. Some of the acts will have one interpreter, some will have two.<\/p>\n
