SWCID REUNION 2010<\/p>\n
There was a lot of SWCID Reunion 2010 committee members. Some of them
\narrived by airlines and some drove by vehicle. Everyone arrived safely
\nin Big Spring, Texas. On February 27, 2009 (Friday) it was a very
\nbeautiful day and the weather was just right. But there was a very odd
\nweather and climate the next day. It became very cold and windy. Few
\nof SWCID Reunion 2010 committee were sick by the weather situation.<\/p>\n
I would like to say ” THANK YOU ” to AL PACE for being our guide to
\nus around town in Big Spring, but the time was running out because we
\nwere very busy to do around in Big Spring town, meeting, check on
\nSWCID Museum and other errands to do. Al Pace was very enthusiasms,
\npatient, helpful, and friendly person.<\/p>\n
I would like to say ” THANK YOU ” to MARK MYERS for his support on
\nour SWCID Reunion 2010 Committee for our futures plan in July 2010. He
\nwas very good advice and helpful.<\/p>\n
I would like to say ” THANK YOU ” to CHRISTINE KAMAL for preparing
\nand questions about our SWCID Reunion 2010. She was very helpful to
\nmake sure everything is in control and she wants to make everything
\nlook good for SWCID Reunion 2010.<\/p>\n
I would like to say ” THANK YOU ” to LISA LOPEZ-SANTOS for coming as
\nher second trip to SWCID Reunion 2010 meeting, and helpful.<\/p>\n
I would like to say ” THANK YOU ” to VIRGINIA CARTER for helping
\nHaden Lambert and Rungsit Wongsaprome to fix the scanner and computer
\nfor the pictures. She was very helpful and friendly.<\/p>\n
I would like to say ” THANK YOU ” to JOHN GREEN and CANDACE ANDERSON
\nfor being involved in the SWCID Reunion 2010 to prepare plans for our
\nfutures.<\/p>\n
I would like to say ” THANK YOU ” to HADEN LAMBERT and RUNGSIT
\nWONGSAPROME for their work on the scanning some of the pictures. They
\nalso took the pictures around in SWCID Museum.<\/p>\n
Mark Myers, Provost of SWCID informed us about SWCID. There will be a
\nnew name added but will not change SWCID’s name and just added name.
\nSWCID will still have the same name as long as shining good name for
\nhistory. Here is: SWCID : COMMUNITY COLLEGE FOR THE DEAF AND HARD OF
\nHEARING. This is community college and this is not VOC. This is higher
\nlevel of education.<\/p>\n
We finally saw the new building where they will have the mechanic,
\nwelding, and construction classes there. The building will be done
\nvery soon. There will not be any need for transportation to Howard
\nCollege.. It was save their gas money. The SWCID student will walk
\ntoward the new building on the (east side of SWCID building). That is
\ngreat ones.<\/p>\n
Also for dental lab tech, they got new equipment because everything
\nwere change from past to present. In past they had to do it the old
\nway. Today everything change to new and there were new technologies..
\nIt was great.<\/p>\n
For art class, there were changes because there are new technologies,
\ntoo. There were very good art class that we saw it. It was amazing
\npictures.<\/p>\n
For Welding class, Mark told us about situation and Al Pace take us
\nto Howard College which SWCID student took the welding classes. We
\nwere shocked and surprised. 12 SWCID student work hard to make 1,000
\nhorseshoes as rattlesnake. We took pictures and we will get more
\ninformation to our SWCID Reunion 2010 yearbooks. We want to say how
\nproud of them to support our SWCID.<\/p>\n
We will work on the early-bird combo. Remember the prices are
\ncheaper. We will announce soon. Our SWCID dorm will be open for
\neveryone who want to sleep there for. This will be a first come first
\nserve basis. We already discussed with Mark about Howard College Dorm
\nif Cheri will approve or not. We will let you know next newsletter.

\nabout hotel \/ motel, RV park, dorm, and more information.<\/p>\n
\ndeaf network soon. We will have softball teams, bowling, racquetball
\ngames, horseshoes games, horse basketball games and disc golf games.
\nAlso Al Pace is making plans for kid\u2019s activities.<\/p>\n

\nhave a lot of history in past and present.<\/p>\n
