Attendees will gain a greater understanding of the emotional and psychological issues faced by people with hearing loss. We will look at psycho-social aspects, coping strategies and resources for hard of hearing people (including state programs). We will cover many \u201ctips\u201d for coping with a hearing loss in the workplace, training school or college. There will be a presentation of technology and an opportunity to \u201ctry the technology out.<\/p>\n<p>PRESENTERS:<\/p>\n<p>Carolyn Colley holds a B. A. in Anthropology and is currently taking the Hearing Loss Association of America\u2019s Hearing Loss Support Specialist course. Miss Colley has a bilateral hearing loss and has worn hearing aids for most of her life. She has held many leadership positions and advocated for the rights of people with hearing loss. She co-founded Deaf Alliance- a support\/advocacy group for Hard of Hearing students at Texas State University.
