A MESSAGE FROM THE DAD PRESIDENT:<\/p>\n
Hello DAD Members and Friends,<\/p>\n
Spring is here and this means it\u2019s time for spring cleaning at DAD.
\nThe DAD renovation committee is gearing up to clean out the patio area
\nand repair the fence around the patio. They also plan to remove the
\nold paint outside around the building, prime, and repaint the building
\nthe same time as the renovations at the patio area. Once it is done
\nDAD plans to name this area \u201cThe Cathy Edler- Ashley and Preston
\nAshley, Sr. Patio\u201d in honor of the many wonderful and successful
\nfeats they both have accomplished while members of DAD (& still are).<\/p>\n
Speaking of Preston Ashley, Sr., we are pleased to know that he is
\nreturning to Dallas to visit us next month and while here he will be a
\npart of the DAD renovation committee as well.<\/p>\n

For those of you who haven\u2019t checked out our newly revised DAD
\nwebpage done by our webmaster, Cathy Edler-Ashley, please do take a
\nlook at www.dallasdeafclub.org. I am very proud of our new look.<\/p>\n
On March 14th, DAD had a successful party, the SWBAD AFTER EVENT
\nParty, hosted by three organizations; Diversity Entertainment, the
\nDallas Softball team, and the Dallas Basketball team. Over 300 were in
\nattendance and the music was provided by DJ Calvin Nagy. The evening
\nwas enjoyed by all and I do want to show my appreciation to the DAD
\nboard and David Normand, House and Bar Manager and his group of
\nvolunteers for putting in many hours that evening ensuring that this
\nparty was a success.<\/p>\n
I\u2019m happy to announce the election of two new trustees: Jesse
\nCarrizales and Kevin Sowards. They will join Will Monteleone as our
\ntrustees.<\/p>\n
This Saturday, March 28th, we will have two presentations, both given
\nby VIABLE, 11:00 \u2013 2:00, and SORENSON, 6:00 \u2013 8:00. Food will be
\nprovided during both presentations. Please do come and learn what is
\nnew in the technology world.<\/p>\n
By the way, our snack vending machine, thanks to Michael Kramer, is
\nnow working and full of goodies. It is located in front of the
\nkitchen. The bar also has snacks as well.<\/p>\n
