SWCID REUNION 2010 – Updated 4\/2\/09<\/p>\n
BIG SPRING, TEXAS<\/p>\n
** MORE GOOD NEWS **<\/p>\n
March 7, 2009 \u2013 at Austin , Texas at the Deaf Nation Deaf Expo,
\nChristine Kamal, Lisa Santos, and Linda Hobbs were there. They told me
\nthat there were a lot of people were asking questions, and some of
\nthem bought the yearbooks. They brought their pictures to them. They
\ntold them that they are going to SWCID Reunion in July 2010. I would
\nlike to big \u201cTHANK YOU\u201d to Christine Kamal, Lisa Santos, and Linda
\nHobbs.<\/p>\n
SWCID Reunion 2010 committee needs your big help. Mostly people want
\nto see or hear from Bob Coltrane. Last word from Wilma Truitt said
\nthat ( not sure where ), Bob Coltrane must be working as a director or
\ncoordinator of the interpreter service in Ohio at either in Columbus
\nor Cincinnati. Please find him and let him know about the SWCID
\nReunion and we want him to come.<\/p>\n
Lisa Wynn received the news from Ron Gough, Wilma Truitt, Danny
\nCampbell, Larry Boyd, Delores Erlandson, Larry Smith and Beatrice
\nBurke. They will be there. Of course present faculty \/ staff of SWCID
\nwill be there too. Minnie Mae Wilding-Diaz at Utah, Leslie Earnst at
\nOklahoma, and Michael Chenug said \u201cMaybe\u201d. We will trying pull
\nthem to come.<\/p>\n
Lisa Wynn have not hear the news from Marcus Myers at Corpus Christi,
\nTexas, Larry Evans at Austin, Texas, Steve Baldwin at Austin, Texas,
\nSandra Ammons at Fremont, California, Jeff Richard at Indiana and
\nAngel Ramos at Phoenix, Arizona.<\/p>\n
I will ask Dom Bonura, Helen Bonura, Laurel Brasel if they will come
\nor not.. I will let everyone know who will come and who will not come.
\nWho do you want the faculty and staff to come. Let me know. We want
\neveryone be there. This may be out last chance for a great reunion.<\/p>\n
There were about 198 Faculty and Staff (1980-2009). But there were 5
\nwere obituaries. Those that are really hard for me to find everybody
\nand try to pull them to come. Why do I want to pull all of faculty and
\nstaff to come our SWCID Reunion 2010? Everybody wants to see you. It
\nwas been long time since. They want to give them chance to see you
\nagain and have old pals. Give me a chance.. Come and join our SWCID
\nReunion 2010. Just once. I won’t bother in the next 5 years ( 2015 ).<\/p>\n
I counted the students who entered SWCID, there were 1322 plus
\ncontinuing one more year.. But there were 13 or more obituaries
\n(unofficially). I ask all of you who are ex-student from SWCID, come
\nto our SWCID Reunion 2010. We have a lot of things to do, we have best
\nenterprises, sports that you want play and challenge, booths\/exhibits
\nand tour around new SWCID building and many more to do. Come and join
\nour SWCID Reunion 2010.<\/p>\n
Many people who want to know more information and combo form and
\nother things. We would like to tell you that we are not finished yet.
\nWe are waiting for Mark Myers of Provost SWCID the prices for SWCID
\ndorm and Howard College dorms . We have to find the catering on Friday
\nand Saturday and find the prices. Also we have to find the prices for
\nT-shirts and Polo Shirts. The last one, we need to make the form for
\nbooths\/exhibits for our SWCID Reunion 2010. We will make brochures
\n(schedule) what\u2019s going in SWCID Reunion 2010. We have a lot of work
\nto do.<\/p>\n

Lisa Wynn and Christine Kamal finally are working on the website, we
\nwill have it up and running very soon. We are working hard on this
\npart. It has not been easy. We are very exciting to get this up and
\nrunning soon. Stay tuned.<\/p>\n
*********************Reminder YEARBOOK Reminder*******************<\/p>\n
Do not forget to buy the yearbook before May 31, 2009 . The price
\nwill cost $65.00. After May 31, 2009 , the price will be raised up to
\n$75.00. Mail to Christine Kamal, 14250 Kimberley Lane # 308, Houston ,
\nTexas 77079, if you plan to write the personal check, please write to
\n\u201cReunion 2010\u201d.<\/p>\n
Some people want to have \u201cCD\u201d instead of yearbook. There might be
\na little risk. Remember in the future there may not be the same size
\nof CD. There will be different size. Also if CD is broken or scratch.
\nSorry there is no replacement. You will loose everything. It is better
\nto have a Yearbook, because you can see it again and again memories.
\nIf the future changes CD design become smaller in computers then you
\nwon’t be able to view the CD because of different size, who knows. You
\ncan’t blame everyone for that. Think Twice.<\/p>\n
******************Reminder PICTURES Reminder********************<\/p>\n
Do not forget to bring the pictures that you want to share everybody
\nin yearbook.. We can scan for you. Or you can scan your pictures then
\nemail and send to us. We have a lot of pictures to share with everyone
\nfor yearbook. We did scan some pictures from SWCID Museum , too. We
\ntry to finish everything. It is hard part. Let you know that we have
\nsome pictures, must be around from 1982 to 1990. I did not have
\npictures of 1980 to 1982 and 1990 to 2010. Send me your pictures that
\nyou take the pictures in SWCID that time.<\/p>\n
*** FUNDRAISING \/ DONATIONS ***<\/p>\n
We will sell some items that we need fundraising. Of course we have
\ndonation form. If you want to see the donation form. I will be happy
\nto send you. So you can look at it.<\/p>\n
Lisa Santos will go to Big Spring , Texas to make a deposit The
\nHoward County Fair Barns. We have some volunteer to come for
\nenterprises.<\/p>\n
We need volunteer for sports. Sport will have softball, horseshoes,
\nracquetball, disc golf, bowling and basketball. Tony Lang will be
\nSport Director. He will responsible for rule of sports, fees the cost,
\nand etc. We are still working on the form and we still need talk to
\nTony before we will announce soon.<\/p>\n
Also Linda Hobb-Shipley will take care of \u201cSilent Auction\u201d and
\nshe have some good creative. There will have many different kind of
\nbasket with things. Look good. Do not forget to bring extra cash in
\ncase if you are interesting or not to bid for the Silent Auction.<\/p>\n
******* ATTENTION EVERYONE ************<\/p>\n
The reason that I want everybody who were ex-SWCID student or
\nex-SWCID faculty \/ staff to come here for once in a lifetime last
\nchance to see each other before we get older later. There will be many
\ngood things and issues that we will have at the SWCID REUNION 2010. I
\nam begging everybody to come. No matter if you didn’t graduate or not
\nfrom SWCID. But you are still a part of SWCID. Come and join us. I am
\nbegging all of the faculty and staff come for our 30 th anniversary.
\nWe will have a big event there. It will be something different there.
\nIt will be very good. I would like to say a very “BIG THANK YOU” to
\nthose who are involved in the SWCID Reunion 2010 Committee, they all
\nhave a great mind for this planning.<\/p>\n
