Jones Computer and Technical<br \/>\nCenter. Teaches computer competency skills to adults who are deaf and<br \/>\nhard of hearing to augment existing literacy skills.<\/p>\n<p>PROGRAM: Deaf Services<\/p>\n<p>SALARY RANGE: Grade V<\/p>\n<p>JOB REQUIREMENTS:<\/p>\n<p>Education\/Experience:<\/p>\n<p>Advanced degree in IT. Fluent in ASL. Texas Teacher\u2019s Certificate<br \/>\nor equivalent state teacher certification and interpreter<br \/>\ncertification preferred.<\/p>\n<p>High level of computer proficiency within Windows environment,<br \/>\nincluding word processing,<\/p>\n<p>spreadsheets, and databases.<\/p>\n<p>Skills:<\/p>\n<p>Ability to teach reading, writing and math, using computer and other<br \/>\ntechnology.<\/p>\n<p>Fluent in ASL and other sign systems.<\/p>\n<p>Intimate knowledge of deafness and deaf culture.<\/p>\n<p>Demonstrated advanced knowledge of current business application<br \/>\nsoftware.<\/p>\n<p>Ability to plan and organize work in a time efficient manner.<\/p>\n<p>Ability to work as a team member.<\/p>\n<p>Ability to represent agency in a professional manner.<\/p>\n<p>Excellent written and communication skills<\/p>\n<p>Excellent interpersonal skills.<\/p>\n<p>Computer Literacy Specialist <\/p>\n<p>JOB DUTIES:<\/p>\n<p>Provide instruction in basic reading, writing and math skills in<br \/>\ncomputer lab. Provide instruction in other areas, such as social<br \/>\nstudies, and science.<\/p>\n<p>Provide instruction in computer software for those students<br \/>\ninterested in and showing aptitude for word processing, spreadsheet<br \/>\nand database software.<\/p>\n<p>Maintain records and complete reports on time.<\/p>\n<p>Develop individualized instructional plans to meet students’ academic<br \/>\nneeds.
