A MESSAGE FROM THE DAD PRESIDENT:<\/p>\n
Hello DAD Members and Friends,<\/p>\n
In my last newsletter I neglected to mention that TEJAS donated $280
\nto DAD in honor of Laura Lemmon-Moore. Laura has dedicated herself to
\nDAD many times in many different ways and for this we all are deeply
\ngrateful.<\/p>\n
I want to share my appreciation to the following volunteers who came
\nto DAD to replace our old fence, around the patio and in parking lot,
\nwith a beautiful new one. Also this crew of volunteers stripped,
\nprimed, and painted the patio building wall. They are: Anthony Jones,
\nPreston Ashley, Sr., Mitchel Bien, David Normand, Kent Reneau, Steven
\nHoffnagle, Alfredo Gonzales, Wil Monteleone, Dennis Hill, Raul
\nEspinoza, Jesse Carrizales, Rocky Monada, Andy Beckham, John Alejos, &
\nKen Seabolt.<\/p>\n
Big thanks also go to Laura Lemmon-Moore for providing lunches, a
\ncouple of times, for the crew and to Maxine Satarino for being the
\n‘gofer’ for the crew.<\/p>\n
Our next project will be to paint the rest of the outside building
\nwalls and put in a new deck and a small roof in the patio. Thanks,
\nvolunteers!<\/p>\n

This coming Saturday, April 25th, is an all day retreat, CROPPERS &
\nSTAMPERS, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. If interested in participating please
\ncontact Melissa Schiber, host, at mschiber@dallasdeafclub.org, or
\ncheck out the website for more information.<\/p>\n
Our next big event is the SWBDA (SOUTHWEST BOWLING DEAF ASSOCIATION)
\ntournament, April 30, May 1 & 2. The co-chairs are Dee Davis and Ken
\nSeabolt. Do see our website for more information. We plan to open DAD,
\nThursday night, April 30th, for \u2018Social Night\u2019. Saturday night,
\nMay 2nd, we will have DADGO, a new game! Do come and join us! We have
\na new \u2018host\u2019 for DADGO. Come and find out who this new \u2018host\u2019
\nis! FYI: there will not be any food fundraising that night.<\/p>\n
As many of you know I have a full time job so at times I\u2019m not
\nalways able to take care of DAD business. I\u2019m grateful to my
\nofficers and board members for taking over the reins when it is
\nimpossible for me to. FYI: I\u2019m usually at DAD, every Friday and
\nSaturday night. Do come to talk to me if you have any concerns or
\nissues to share with me or you just want to get to know me better.<\/p>\n
Speaking of the officers and board members, all are now bona fide
\n\u2018permanent\u2019 members of the Executive Board. The ones who were
\ntemporary have attended our General Members meetings four times, or
\nmore. They all have shown that they are a very dedicated and a great
\nteam. They are always willing to volunteer for duties during the
\nweekends.<\/p>\n
For those of you who haven\u2019t checked out our newly revised DAD
\nwebpage done by our webmaster, Cathy Edler-Ashley, please do take a
\nlook at www.dallasdeafclub.org. She also has added a place for you to
\nsubmit your email address if you wish to have subscribe important
\nannouncements which will be sent to your email. Cathy also wants you
\nto take a moment to visit \u201cTell Us\u201d page and submit your thoughts
\nand\/or feedbacks.<\/p>\n
On March 28th we had two great presentations, both given by VIABLE,
\nand SORENSON. On May 9th, CSDVRS will give a presentation about
\n\u2018Z\u2019, from 11:00 \u2013 2:00. Lunch will be provided.<\/p>\n
