exploring their identity as bicultural individuals through increased
\nawareness of ASL,<\/p>\n
deaf culture, hearing culture and by sharing their own stories.<\/p>\n
KODAs will spend seven days and six nights at Camp whittle, located
\nin the<\/p>\n
San Bernardino Mountains near Big Bear Lake, CA.<\/p>\n
Activities will be included archery, nature, arts and crafts,
\nhorseback riding,<\/p>\n
swimming, kayaking, rope courses and leadership\/team building skills.<\/p>\n
Camp Director,* Molly Bowen*, a CODA from Northern California,
\ncurrently works as<\/p>\n
the program manager\/Assistant Camp Director with Camp Grizzly Youth
\nLeadership<\/p>\n
for Deaf, Hard of hearing and KODA children under NORCAL Center on
\nDeafness.<\/p>\n
She has been involved with Camp Grizzly since its inception in 1999.<\/p>\n
In her 2nd year with KODAWest Camp, she will lead an experienced team
\nof<\/p>\n
counselors in providing fun activities that helpcampers understand
\ntheir unique heritage.<\/p>\n
KODA Campers will have a great time, and leave with a deep
\nappreciation<\/p>\n
of their group identity as KODAs.<\/p>\n
