SECOND ANNUAL RANGER TRIATHLON FOR KIDS, FAMILIES AND ADULTS<\/p>\n
AT TEXAS SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF<\/p>\n

\nonline (www.rangertri.com) for the Texas School for the Deaf\u2019s (TSD)
\nSecond Annual Ranger Triathlon — A USA Triathlon (USAT) sanctioned
\nevent, hosted by TSD and Jack and Adam\u2019s Bicycles at the school\u2019s
\nsouth Austin campus at 1102 South Congress.<\/p>\n
The event has currently exceeded its participant numbers from 2008
\nand is closing in on 150 entries. The race is a mini-sprint distance
\ntriathlon designed for the 1st time triathlete, but also challenging
\nenough for the veteran triathlete.<\/p>\n
Kelly Handel, local professional triathlete, will lead a
\ncomplimentary triathlon transition for registered participants on
\nWednesday, May 13 from 6:00 \u2013 7:30 pm at TSD\u2019s softball field.<\/p>\n
Final registration will be in person only, on Friday, May 15 from
\n11:00am to 7:00 pm, at Jack and Adam\u2019s Bicycles, 1210 Barton Springs
\nRoad. All participants must pickup race materials, in person, to
\nauthorize waivers Friday, May 15 at Jack and Adam\u2019s Bicycles. There
\nwill be no late registration or packet pickup on race day.
\nRegistration is open to all participants, age 7 and up, with various
\ndistance courses appropriate for all ages.<\/p>\n
Event proceeds will provide needed equipment and program support for
\nTSD\u2019s Physical Education Programs. The event also promotes the
\nimportance of physical fitness for a healthy lifetime.<\/p>\n

TSD\u2019s Ranger Triathlon offers kids, as well as \u201cfirst-timers\u201d,
\nthe opportunity to experience a multi-sport event in a safe and
\npositive environment, with the entire course enclosed within TSD\u2019s
\ngated campus.<\/p>\n
While competition is always a part of any race, the main objective of
\nthis event is to promote a healthy, physically fit lifestyle fr the
\ncommunity to come together and have FUN!<\/p>\n
Nick Bannon, Curriculum Specialist at TSD and Ranger Tri Director,
\nhas been working with sponsors and community groups to organize this
\nsecond annual event. Bannon says, \u201cTSD is the perfect venue for an
\nevent like this, and we are excited to host this event where community
\nmembers have the opportunity to try a sport that is well-known in this
\narea. And with a fun, safe and enclosed course, children, parents, and
\nadults can all participate in the race together. \u201c<\/p>\n
