A FUNDRAISER BENEFITING OUTREACH PROGRAMS TO DEAF AND HARD OF HEARING
\nCHILDREN OF TEXAS<\/p>\n
Austin, Texas \u2013 May 19, 2009 A number of Hilton staffers are
\nvolunteering their time to contribute to a cause near to the heart of
\nchef, Mark Dayanandan. Tonight at 6:00 pm, Hilton\u2019s Executive Chef
\nDayanandan and his staff, team with the Texas School for the Deaf
\n(TSD) for a Third Annual Diamond Event. A premier culinary experience,
\nfeaturing an exquisite multi-course, wine-paired dinner, prepared and
\npresented by select TSD student chefs from the school\u2019s culinary
\narts program, alongside Dayanandan and the Hilton culinary staff.
\nStaffers agreed to volunteer their services this year to help keep
\ncosts low so the school could continue to hold the event. Funds raised
\nhelp support critical outreach services the school provides statewide
\nto families, schools and professionals serving deaf and hard of
\nhearing students.<\/p>\n
A partnership with the Hilton Austin was formed in 2007 when TSD met
\naward winning chef, Mark Dayanandan. Dayanandan had just been named
\nthe Hilton\u2019s Diamond Chef, the highest honor among Hilton chefs
\nworldwide. Today, Dayanandan and his staff remain loyal and dedicated
\nsupporters of TSD. This annual event is named in honor of
\nDayanandan\u2019s Diamond title.<\/p>\n
