I would like to ask your help in
either recommending an individual or posting a notice in your church
bulletin for those who would like to work with high school foreign
exchange students and local schools. Local coordinator’s recruit
volunteer host families, provide support and activities for students,
and make friends at home and abroad that will last a lifetime!

We are looking for fun loving, responsible adults who are active in
their communities, enjoy teenagers, have patience, excellent
communication skills, and maturity.

Local coordinators work as independent contractors and will earn a
per student stipend for placing a student along with a supervision
stipend. They also earn rewards for both national and international
travel to our meetings to meet with hundreds of other coordinators
across the country to help improve the program! Although this is not a
full-time salaried position, it can represent a supplemental income
for teachers, coaches, stay at home moms, retired persons and youth
pastors.

Local Coordinator’s make a difference by:

*Promoting American values and beliefs globally

*Educating Americans about diverse cultures while strengthening
mutual understanding and global citizenship

*Affect attitudes over lifetimes and from one generation to the next,
providing the potential to address long-term problems of anti-American
sentiment central to fighting terrorism.

*Engage the leaders of tomorrow in dialogue with American peers,
families and communities

Hosting is a volunteer endeavor where families host a young person
from another country for a 5 month or 10th month period. They provide
the student with a place to sleep and study (can be a shared room with
an age appropriate member of the same sex), feed them breakfast and
dinner and on the weekends, and include them as a part of their family
while they study here in the US. Students come with their own medical
insurance and spending money to cover incidentals. Hosting can be a
great way to positively impact our world and make it a better place.
We have profiles of young people from 55 countries around the world
and the local coordinator would help match families up with a student.

Finding quality local coordinators and host families with true hearts
can be challenging. We value referrals from community leaders. We
would like to donate 50.00 to your church for a referral of an
individual who would work with us. We would also donate 50.00 to your
church for each family willing to host a student.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
