To IMPROVE your skills in <\/p>\n

American Sign Language<\/p>\n

Wednesdays 6:30pm to 7:45pm <\/p>\n

Taught by Evelyn Pasqua, a graduate of Gallaudet University (the world’s only liberal arts university for the Deaf), this class starts on November 1st in the Asbury Hall, room 201. This class will meet every Wednesday night until Dec. 13th. It will not meet during Thanksgiving week.<\/p>\n

Evelyn describes her class: “I will teach th e people the difference between ASL and English Sign Language. The course will focus on grammar and rules related to ASL, facial expressions, body language as well as sign languages from other countries. Each person will have a chance to tell a story in sign. On our last night, we will celebrate with a silent dinner at a restaurant.” <\/p>\n

The cost for this class is $25, payable to “Lovers Lane UMC” and includes all materials, except the restaurant. This class is for those who have some knowledge of ASL and want to improve their skills. All past ASL students from Lovers Lane are encouraged to enroll.<\/p>\n

FOOD! You are welcome to come eat dinner in Asbury Hall before ASL class starts, every Wednesday night at 6pm. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children. Children’s activities are available also from 6:30pm to 7:45pm. <\/p>\n
