GREENVILLE \u2014 The Greenville Independent School District Board of
\nTrusteesis slated to discuss and possibly approve a contract with the
\nGreenville Regional Day School Program for the Deaf when it meets
\nTuesday evening.<\/p>\n
According to the agenda packet, the Greenville Regional Day School
\nProgram for the Deaf serves eligible students under 21 years of age
\nwho reside in a member district of the shared service arrangement
\nagreement.<\/p>\n
Greenville ISD serves as the fiscal agent for 22 other participating
\ndistricts.<\/p>\n
Trustees are scheduled to consider revisions to comply with new
\nrequirements of the Texas Education Agency to address how non-member
\nlocal education agencies or charter schools may request services.<\/p>\n
The revisions clarify the roles and responsibilities of participating
\nmember districts. Greenville ISD administrators are recommending the
\ndistrict to enter into the agreement with the Greenville Regional Day
\nSchool Program for the Deaf.<\/p>\n
The board will also:<\/p>\n
\u2022 Receive principal\u2019s reports from all campuses;<\/p>\n
\u2022 Receive reports regarding Project Graduation, upcoming board
\ntraining and the Texas Association of School Boards 2009 Summer
\nLeadership Institute; and<\/p>\n
\u2022 Recognize the 2009 TASB Media Honor Roll recipient;<\/p>\n
\u2022 Discuss finance reports regarding the 2008-2009 budget status,
\nfederal stimulus programs and an update on the 2009-2010 budget.<\/p>\n
The Board of Trustees meets at 6 p.m. in the Wesley Martin Operations
\nCenter, located at 4004 Moulton.<\/p>\n
