This makes it possible for people who suffer adverse employment<br \/>\naction because of a disabling condition, including cancer, diabetes,<br \/>\nepilepsy, to bring suit in Texas courts to obtain reparation. The<br \/>\nchanges will take effect September 1, 2009.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to your support in contacting your State Representatives and<br \/>\nSenators, we were able to win support for HB 978. Also, many thanks to the Diabetes and Epilepsy advocacy communities, the Coalition of Texans with Disabilities, the Disabled American Veterans, Advocacy<br \/>\nInc., Brian East, John Griffin, Jason Smith, State Representative Lon<br \/>\nBurnam, Senator Kirk Watson and TELA for their support and<br \/>\ndetermination.
