Other duties may be performed when not required to provide interpreting services.<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications:<\/p>\n<p>?       Graduation from a recognized Interpreter Training Program (ITP) or 5 years in the field as a certified interpreter.<br \/>\n?       Certification from Texas BEI Level I\/Basic or higher or NAD\/RID certified.<br \/>\n?       Experience interpreting in a variety of settings.<br \/>\n?       Fluency in English and American Sign Language (ASL).<br \/>\n?       Knowledge and understanding of Deaf culture.<\/p>\n<p>Position Duties and Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<p>?       To provide American Sign Language (ASL) to English and English to ASL interpretation.<br \/>\n?       To work as a team member with the Executive Director and the Communications Coordinator.<br \/>\n?       To display and promote professionalism and a high ethical standard in interpreting and adhering to the Texas BEI Standards of Ethical <\/p>\n<p>Behavior or NAD\/RID Code of Professional Conduct.<\/p>\n<p>?       Provide interpreting services for d\/Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, classmates, and educational staff.<br \/>\n?       Provide interpreting services for all other needs as they arise.<br \/>\n?       Where qualified, the interpreter will tutor under direction of the Communications Coordinator lower level interpreters.<br \/>\n?       Will participate in educational team meetings and workshops.<br \/>\n?
