I wanted to write and introduce myself and the project I have become involved
\nin. My employment brings me into the community and I have been very blessed by
\nthe people I have met there. I have looked for ways to give back to the
\ncommunity and I was recently introduced to Sertoma. I have agreed to help the
\nSertoma organization to establish a club in the Houston area. As you are
\nprobably aware, Sertoma is a service organization, similar to Kiwanis, Rotary or
\nLions, that specifically supports the Hearing and Speech impaired communities.

I am writing you in an attempt to strengthen the launch of this organization in
\nHouston. Sertoma is in other communities around Texas but, for whatever reason,
\nis not found in the Houston area. I want to correct this situation. I would
\nappreciate any suggestions you may have for reaching into the community to
\nstrengthen the club so it can optimally support the hearing and speech
\nimpaired.<\/p>\n
Also, if you are aware of individuals in the Houston area who would be
\ninterested in participating in Sertoma, I would love the opportunity to speak
\nwith them. I am awaiting some formation paperwork from the Sertoma national
\nheadquarters in Kansas City, but as soon as that is in hand, I would like to
\nstart working with a core group to get the club formed and functioning in its
\nintended purpose.<\/p>\n
I would appreciate hearing your thoughts and any help you may be willing to
\nprovide.<\/p>\n
