As promised I am sending you information regarding our Fall show “Children of a Lesser God”. I am so looking forward in working the hearing-impaired community and I know they will teach me so much.<\/p>\n

I am sending the character description and hopefully you can help me find “the next big stars” in Dionysus Theatre.<\/p>\n

Auditions will be the first week of August. Show opens October 17th and runs thru October 31, 2009. Every Thursday, Saturday and Sunday to be more specific.<\/p>\n

I am also looking for a person who interprets to help me with this show. They would be my assistant director. If you know of any interpreters or interns who would love this opportunity, I would be most grateful. Our buget isn’t huge. They would have to be at rehearsals Monday-Thursday 7-9:30 beginning sometime in August.<\/p>\n

Here is the rundown of characters in show:<\/p>\n

Sarah Norman – mid-twenties. Deaf from birth. (This character MUST speak the last line of the show though)<\/p>\n

Orin Dennis – in his twenties. Has some residual hearing: a lip reader<\/p>\n

Lydia – in her late teens. Has some residual hearing, a lip reader (I might have someone for this part- company member, we’ll see if she can do it)<\/p>\n

The authors note: The author insists – in any professional production of this play – the roles of Sarah, Orin and Lydia be performed by deaf or hearing impaired actors.<\/p>\n
