The successful applicant will teach courses within TPTE and deafness-related courses in Rehabilitation Counseling; perform service activities within university, community, and professional settings.  In addition, the applicant will direct the Center on Deafness (CoD) and pursue external funding. <\/p>\n<p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS<\/p>\n<p>* Doctoral Degree:  Deafness, Rehabilitation, Education, Linguistics or related field<br \/>\n* Proficiency in Sign Communication as documented by Rating of Advanced Plus or higher on the SLPI (Sign Language Proficiency Interview)<br \/>\n* Established record of successful teaching in higher education<br \/>\n* Evidence of grant writing and management experience<br \/>\n* Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC)<\/p>\n<p>DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS<\/p>\n<p>* Prior teaching experience and demonstration of an employment history that includes<br \/>\n* contributions to deafness<br \/>\n* Coursework and\/or experience teaching CORE content-related coursework<br \/>\n* Experience working in the State\/Federal Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) system<br \/>\n* Experience with the CORE accreditation process<br \/>\n* Administrative experience in higher education<br \/>\n* Record of scholarship<\/p>\n<p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<\/p>\n<p>* Pursue external funding<br \/>\n* Direct the Center on Deafness<br \/>\n* Participate in professional organizations<br \/>\n* Serve on College and University Committees<br \/>\n* Teach, advise, and engage in program development in deafness and rehabilitation counseling programs<\/p>\n<p>APPLICATION PROCESS<\/p>\n<p>Send letter of application highlighting key competencies, experiences, and interest, vita, and three letters of recommendation to Dr. Clara Lee Brown, Chair of Search Committee, 217A Jane &#038; David Bailey Education Complex, University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Tennessee 37996-3442 or electronically to cbrown26@utk.edu.
