If you don’t think that attending to the ADA training would be beneficial, answer the questions below:<\/p>\n
1) Have you ever been confused about what ADA really says?<\/p>\n
2) Does a private doctor’s office have to employ at least 15 employees before having to comply with ADA? <\/p>\n
3) Does a Social Security office have to follow ADA?<\/p>\n
4) Under the ADA, are the employers required to pay for the interpreters for their Deaf\/hard of hearing employees?<\/p>\n
5) Does ADA apply to a public college\/university only, not a private one?<\/p>\n
If you answer “Yes” to at least one of any above questions, come to my training to find out. The training would empower you learn to self-advocate as a Deaf or Hard of Hearing individual. Here are the training dates and locations:<\/p>\n

Brian Determan, the ASL-native deaf individual, serves as the Deafness Resource Specialist 6B at Communication Axess Ability Group, funded by DARS (Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services) – Office for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services. He works with agencies and service providers regarding their access obligations under the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Rehabilitation Act. His training will empower deaf or hard of hearing individuals with knowledge of their civil rights and how to self-advocate.<\/p>\n
Accommodations for participants such as real time captioning (C.A.R.T.) or sign to voice interpreter services must be requested by Wednesday, August 26, 2008 for August 31 training.
