Location: LRTX site in West Oak Cliff. (Jefferson Blvd, just west of Cockrell Hill Road)<\/p>\n
Party: Art exhibition and reception for your family and friends<\/p>\n
follows on November 14, 2009 2:00pm – 4:00p.m.<\/p>\n
Requirements for eligibility<\/p>\n
* Female
\n* 9th-12th grader
\n* Passionate about art and the pursuit of art-related leadership skills<\/p>\n
Please join us for our third annual Art Chicas Unidas, a one-day hands-on
\nart workshop with professional artists. The experience will include an
\nall-day workshop, lunch, a career discussion with Dallas Art Dealers
\nAssociation members, and a reception for family, friends and the public the
\nfollowing weekend.<\/p>\n
On Saturday, November 7, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. students will be partnered with
\nlocal artists, who will work on a large scale art project, of which YOU will
\nbe her apprentice. Students will be mentored and will co-create a piece of
\nart during the workshop. Artworks created will be inspired by nature,
\nrecycling, or Dallas history.<\/p>\n
The following weekend from 2p.m. – 4p.m., family, friends and the public are
\ninvited to the Open House and reception.<\/p>\n
Application process: Girls interested in applying must complete the
\nattached application by October 10, 2008. Please return to the person who
\ngave out application and they will forward to us. Students will be chosen
\non a first-come, first-serve basis. Space is limited to 16 student
\nparticipants.<\/p>\n

Saturday, October 24, 2pm – Orientation and meet the artists
\nSaturday, November 7, 9am-3pm workshop
\nSaturday, November 14, 2pm – 4pm Open House and Reception

Art Chicas Unidas is a joint venture of La Reunion TX, Girl Scouts of
\nNortheast Texas, Deaf Action Center Texas, and Dallas Art Dealers
