Target Audience: Novice to Intermediate to Advanced Interpreters (All interpreters will benefit)<\/p>\n
Every interpreter possesses both areas of strength and areas needing improvement. Mentoring is a wonderful way to provide opportunities for growth for both parties involved. The goal of this workshop is to provide interpreters a better understanding of the concept of mentoring. The session will include a discussion on the philosophies of mentoring as well as theories and strategies for an effective mentoring relationship. Characteristics of an effective mentor and mentee will also be discussed. Participants will have the opportunity to do some hands-on practice. We will also review the resources available to interpreters in Dallas area. Techniques discussed may be applied to either peer-mentoring or a mentor-mentee relationship. This is an interactive workshop, so participation is encouraged! <\/p>\n
TSID is an Approved RID CMP Sponsor for Continuing Education Activities. This Professional Studies program is offered for .4 CEUs at the Little to Extensive Content Knowledge Level.<\/p>\n
