Houston Deaf Awareness Week A Success!<\/p>\n

Houston Deaf Awareness Week was BACK in Houston after a decade of sitting
\nunderneath a rock. For the last decade Houston has not really had a deaf
\nawareness week to expose our culture, our language, our self being into the
\ndeaf community. But \u201cTHANKS\u201d to this particular group of people who were
\nvery active in bringing this back.<\/p>\n

I had the luxury of attending the event on Saturday, and I have to say I was
\nFLOORED! It was great seeing alot of old faces I haven\u2019t seen in years and
\nof course some faces I have seen here and there. There were 28 booths all
\nfrom the Houston area demonstrating their product and services that they
\nprovide. This was definitely a breath of fresh air that we needed to do.<\/p>\n

Bringing back D.A.W. was one step closer to bringing the Houston Deaf
\nCommunity back together into unity. We have for so long been so divided and
\nnow each time we are moving toward to one step being unified. At the event,
\nthey had door prizes, booths from different vendors\/services, they even had
\nthe City Of Houston Health Department come out and offer Flu shots for those
\nwho needed them. As well they had a variety of performances provided by
\ndifferent individuals which made this event a worthwhile and memorable
\nevent.<\/p>\n

So in hand, for this wonderful great event \u2013 I truly need to recognize those
\nwho really have rolled up their sleeves and helped to put this together to
\nmake this happen! So a BIG THANK YOU goes to :<\/p>\n
