Tournament Rules
\n1. Only Black Bass measuring over fourteen inches (14) and limited to five
\n(5) bass per person per day (Saturday and Sunday).
\n2. Only Deaf, Hard of Hearing and CODA can participate in tournaments.
\n3. Pre-tourney (Friday) is for one lunker only per contestant.
\n4. Each contestant is solely responsible for his or her actions, including
\nsituations due to inclement weather.
\n5. If a contestant bring in more than five (5) bass, the largest bass will
\nbe rejected.
\n6. Dead Bass with no white gill appearance will be accepted. Any dead bass,
\nwith red gill appearance will be accepted with penalty of the subtraction of
\nfour ounces (4 oz.). No cold, frozen or iced bass will be weighted.
\n7. All bass must be caught alive.
\n8. Artificial bait or pork rinds can be used. NO LIVE BAIT!
\n9. Fishing from the shore is prohibited.
\n10. Trolling with an operation of a gas outboard\/inboard motor as a method
\nof fishing is prohibited.
\n11. You can have as many rigged rods and reels you wish but you can use one
\nrigged set of rod and reel at one time.
\n12. The use of trolling motor, depth finder, thermometers and Ph monitors
\nare permitted.
\n13. You must obey the laws of Texas Parks and Wildlife.
\n14. During tournament, each contestant is required to wear a fastened U.S.
\nCoast Guard Approved life preserver anytime the combustion engine is in
\noperation.
\n15. When the boat is anchored and the trolling motor is retracted inside the
\nboat, another boat must stay away from anchored boat at least 50 yards.
\n16. All boats must be equipped with an emergency ignition shut-off device.
\nKill Switch is mandatory in all boats during the tournaments and fastened
\nwhile underway out of no-wake zone.
\n17. In case of mechanical failure or emergency situation, contestants may
\ntransport their fish to weigh-in site by way of another contestant\u2019s boat.
\n18. All anglers in the tournament must respect other anglers not being in
\nthe tournament when fishing on tournament waters.
\n19. All angler\u2019s boat must pass white buoy or Tournament Director\u2019s boat at
\nending time of the tournament.
\n20. All fish brought in must be in plastic bag with water and then released
\nonly at the ramp.
\n21. Any angler, who displays poor sportsmanship, violates any of the
\ntournament rules, or violates the local, state, federal fishing laws and
\nrules, will promptly be disqualified.
\n22. Any angler wishing to protest must submit a written protest to the
\nchairperson who will be the judge within fifteen (15) minutes after the
\nfinal bass has weighed-in. The Chairperson has the right to decide whether
\nor not anyone will be disqualified.
\n23. In case of ties, prize money will be divided equally between tied
\nwinning teams.
\n24. All dead fishes will be handled by Austin Bass Club of the Deaf.
\n“Rule-Interpretations: The tournament Chairperson and ABCD Officers will
\nrule on any unusual situation which may occur. Rules are subject to change”<\/p>\n
