Did you get all of the information you needed?  Was the information<br \/>\neasy to get? Could you access the information? Was there information you did<br \/>\nnot get, but wanted or needed to get? The Federal Communications Commission<br \/>\n(FCC) wants to know more about your experience, so you can be empowered and<br \/>\nbetter protected. Comments are due by October 13, 2009.<\/p>\n<p>The FCC wants information about purchasing communications services and ways<br \/>\nthe FCC can protect and empower consumers. Communications services include<br \/>\ntelephone (wireline and wireless), broadband (for phone, Internet, and other<br \/>\nservices), and subscription video services (TV provided by cable, satellite,<br \/>\nand phone companies).<\/p>\n<p>Consumers should have access to sufficient meaningful information about<br \/>\ncommunications services. This information is needed when consumers are<br \/>\npurchasing products, equipment, and services. This information is also<br \/>\nneeded when consumers are switching communications service providers.<\/p>\n<p>You can help ensure that consumers have the information they need to make<br \/>\ninformed decisions in the communications marketplace.The FCC wants to know<br \/>\nabout the information available to consumers at each stage of the purchasing<br \/>\nprocess for a variety of communications services including:<\/p>\n<p>1. choosing a service provider;<br \/>\n2. choosing a service plan;<br \/>\n3. managing use of the service plan; and<br \/>\n4. deciding whether and when to switch to another service provider or plan.<\/p>\n<p>The FCC also wants to know how the information you need should be provided.<br \/>\nAre there cost-effective best ways to give consumers the information they<br \/>\nneed to make informed decisions?<\/p>\n<p>Do deaf and hard of hearing consumers have the information they need to make<br \/>\ninformed decisions about telephone, broadband, and TV services? Is the<br \/>\ninformation provided accessible to deaf and hard of hearing consumers?<br \/>\nShould the information be provided in a different format or different way?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Comments are due by October 13, 2009.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you have had good or bad experiences, or recommendations and suggestions<br \/>\nabout  providing  consumers  with  the  information needed to purchase<br \/>\ncommunication services, please tell the FCC.<\/p>\n<p>Consumers may file comments through the FCC\u2019s simplified Electronic Comment<br \/>\nFiling System (ECFS) Express System at:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/gullfoss2.fcc.gov\/ecfs\/Upload\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/gullfoss2.fcc.gov\/ecfs\/Upload\/<\/a>.
