\na Deaf Musical Comedy
\n(Legend of the Deaf Mafia)<\/p>\n

DEAFIA is a full length stage play. Written by Deaf Playwright\/Director
\nDouglas Ray Kennedy.<\/p>\n

Story:<\/p>\n

1930’s Chicago Mafia has their sinister claws around the necks of the Deaf
\nCommunity. Innocent deaf people are framed for crimes they never did. And
\nthe Mafia rakes in $$ millions $$ in fraudulent insurance claims. The Mafia
\nlaugh all the way to the bank.<\/p>\n

The frightened Deaf Community decide not to accept defeat and bad images of
\nthemselves. They don’t get mad… They GET EVEN!!!!<\/p>\n

DEAFIA!<\/p>\n

Who will play GLORIA, Deaf Bookkeeper who has just moved to Chicago to work
\nas a bookkeeper? The Mafia demands she works for them as their
\nbookkeeper\/business manager…. Why?
\nSo that when they are arrested by the FBI, they will blame it all on poor
\nGLORIA, the Deaf Bookkeeper. The Mafia are truly nice people… (Yeah right..)<\/p>\n
