TEXAS SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF STUDENTS GIVE BACK TO COMMUNITY PARTNER<\/p>\n

FIFTH GRADERS PAY BACK SUPPORT FROM SOUTHSIDE FLYING PIZZA, CUSTOMERS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Austin, Texas \u2013 October 21, 2009 Today from11:00 am to noon, fifth grade
\nstudents from the Texas School for the Deaf (TSD) will be donning their
\ncommunity service gear to pay back the community for its support, in
\ncollaboration with neighboring business, Southside Flying Pizza (SSFP),
\nlocated at 2206 South Congress Avenue.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, SSFP launched an innovative support program that benefits
\nTSD by sharing profits from online orders the restaurant receives using the
\ninternet. Thanks to SSFP\u2019s easy new online order system, courtesy of
\nRevention, Inc. of Houston, customers who place their orders online
\ncontribute 5% of their purchase to the school\u2019s education foundation. So
\nfar, more than $1,200 has been donated from SSFP, courtesy of its\u2019
\ncustomers.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just that simple\u201c Art Goldstein, co-owner of SSFP, said when he
\npresented the first check to the TSD Foundation last spring, \u201cand it feels
\ngood to do good!\u201d<\/p>\n

In return for SSFP’s partnership with the school, TSD\u2019s fifth grade class
\nwanted to do something to help out at the restaurant. Today students will be
\nout painting SSFP\u2019s fence, and later this year a mural project with TSD is
\nin discussion.<\/p>\n

TSD is grateful for the support of the local community and assistance from
\nbusiness partners like SSFP. Thanks to Goldstein and SSFP for bringing the
\ncommunity together and realizing the important role the school plays in the
\nlives of deaf and hard of hearing children from all across Texas.<\/p>\n
