The Speaker<\/p>\n
Brian Determan, an ASL-native deaf individual, serves as a Deafness Resource
\nSpecialist with Communication Axess Ability Group for Houston and
\nsurrounding counties. The Deafness Resource program is funded by TX DARS
\n(Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services) – Office for Deaf and
\nHard of Hearing Services. Brian works with agencies and service providers
\nregarding their access obligations under the Americans with Disabilities Act
\nand the Rehabilitation Act. His training will empower deaf or hard of
\nhearing individuals with knowledge of their civil rights and how to
\nself-advocate.<\/p>\n
Accommodations for participants such as real time captioning (C.A.R.T.) or
\nsign to voice interpreter services must be requested by Wednesday, November
