{"id":8486,"date":"2009-11-22T04:31:06","date_gmt":"2009-11-22T09:31:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/deafnetwork.com\/wordpress\/?p=8486"},"modified":"2009-11-22T06:13:50","modified_gmt":"2009-11-22T11:13:50","slug":"rit-sponsors-national-competition-for-students-with-hearing-loss","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deafnetwork.com\/wordpress\/blog\/2009\/11\/22\/rit-sponsors-national-competition-for-students-with-hearing-loss\/","title":{"rendered":"RIT Sponsors National Competition for Students with Hearing Loss"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>RIT Sponsors National Competition for Students with Hearing Loss<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rochester, N.Y. \u2013 (Nov. 20, 2009) Rochester Institute of Technology is<br \/>\naccepting entries in its fifth annual Digital Arts, Film and Animation<br \/>\nCompetition for deaf or hard-of-hearing middle and high school students.<\/p>\n<p>Students in grades 9 through 12 can use their creative talents and artistic<br \/>\nexpression in six categories: Web Page Design, Graphic Media, 3-D Animation,<br \/>\nFilm, Interactive Media and Photo Imaging.<\/p>\n<p>Last year\u2019s winning entries came from students in California, Minnesota,<br \/>\nArkansas, New York, Kansas, Virginia and Illinois.<\/p>\n<p>Students submitting winning entries in each category will receive a $250<br \/>\nprize  and an all-expenses-paid trip to Rochester, N.Y. for the awards<br \/>\nceremony in the spring and an exhibition of their work. RIT is home to the<br \/>\nNational Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID), where more than 1,300<br \/>\nstudents with hearing loss from around the world study, live, and socialize<br \/>\nwith 15,000 hearing students on campus.<\/p>\n<p>Students may submit up to two entries.<\/p>\n<p>Entry  forms,  contest  rules  and  other  details  are  available  at<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.rit.edu\/NTID\/ArtsNR\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.rit.edu\/NTID\/ArtsNR<\/a><\/p>\n<p>RIT is internationally recognized as a leader in computing, engineering,<br \/>\nimaging technology, and fine and applied arts programs, and for providing<br \/>\nunparalleled support services for students with hearing loss.
