Prior to being an interim provost of Gallaudet University, Michael L. Moore has been a professor in the Department of Chemistry and Physics at Gallaudet since 1983 and he served as chair of the department from 1996-1999. In 2005, Dr. Moore received the Gallaudet University Student Affairs Dedicated Faculty Award. According to the buzz, Dr. Michael Moore is well liked by many at Gallaudet University (faculty, staff and students).<\/p>\n

He earned his B.A. at Gallaudet University; M.S. at Southern Methodist University in Texas; Ph.D. at North Texas State University. Before he went to Gallaudet University to teach, he taught at Southwest College Institute for the Deaf. He is well liked by many in the deaf community here in Texas. <\/p>\n

On September 1, 2006, Dr. Moore became interim provost of Gallaudet University as Dr. Jane K. Fernandes stepped down to prepare for her appointment as president. Dr. Michael Moore currently is a member of the President\u2019s Council.<\/p>\n
