National Science Fair Competition for Students with Hearing Loss<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rochester, N.Y. (Dec. 4, 2009) – Rochester Institute of Technology is
\nsponsoring a national competition for students with hearing loss who are in
\ngrades 6 through 12.<\/p>\n

The RIT National Science Fair for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Students allows
\nentrants to compete individually or as a two- or three-person team for cash
\nprizes of up to $500.<\/p>\n

To qualify, students must submit an entry form and a 250-word science
\nproject summary. Judges will choose finalists in both middle school and high
\nschool divisions who will be invited to attend the Science Fair March 26-28,
\n2010 at RIT\u2019s National Technical Institute for the Deaf in Rochester, N.Y.
\nto display their project and compete for first, second or third place in
\neach division.<\/p>\n

In the 2009 competition, nearly 50 contestants from Arizona, Arkansas,
\nCalifornia, Illinois, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South
\nCarolina, Utah, Washington and Wisconsin brought their exhibits to NTID.
\nWinning topics included \u201cGlobal Warming,\u201d \u201cSigning and Driving,\u201d \u201cEffect
\nfrom Car Exhaust\u201d and \u201cHow the Brain Registers and Reacts with Age.\u201d The

The deadline to submit project summaries is January 15, 2010.<\/p>\n
