2nd Houston Deaf Forum Meeting<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mark your calendar folks, there will be a 2nd Houston Deaf Forum meeting on
\nFebruary 27, 2010 from 2:30 to 6 p.m. Location will be held at
\nFreed-Montrose Neighborhood Library (Conference room \u2013 upstairs) 4100
\nMontrose, Houston, TX 77006.<\/p>\n

The agenda will involve establishing an organization that will become a
\nbetter voice, unity and advocacy for the deaf and hard of hearing citizen of
\nHouston and areas. Use the power of networking tools and spread the word so
\nwe can establish Deaf Resource Center. For detailed information on the
\nagenda\u2026<\/p>\n

Meeting will start from 2:30 pm till 6 pm.<\/p>\n

Located at:
\nFreed-Montrose Neighborhood Library
\n(Conference room \u2013 upstairs)
\n4100 Montrose
\nHouston, Texas 77006<\/p>\n

* Opening statement by Billy Koch and Bradley Porche.
\n* Result of the first meeting, show visual grid map of the response by the
\nattendees.
\n* Explain the concept of a Mission Statement and Constitution.<\/p>\n

Open to the floor<\/p>\n

* Name of the Resource center.
\n* Feedback from the audience.
\n* Vote on name.<\/p>\n

Close the floor<\/p>\n

Explain what a Transition Director is and what are the roles and
\nresponsibilities.<\/p>\n

Responsibilities include:<\/p>\n

* Create and refine the Mission Statement through feedback with members.
\n* Create and refine the Constitution through feedback.
\n* Apply for 501 (c) 3 non-profit.
\n* Delegate task and responsibility of members in creating the so named
\nResource Center.
\n* Term is from 6 month to 12 month.
\n* Will cooperate with consultants (Bradley Porche and Billy Koch).
\n* Will assume the administration role of the new Facebook Fan Page once a
\nResource Center is named and the website (will be created).
\n* Maintain contact with the greater Houston community and have constant
\nfeedback.<\/p>\n

Open to the floor<\/p>\n

* Members will name individuals whom would be a good Transition Director.
\n* Several names will be called and will explain their reason of why they
\nwould be a good Transition Director. (Parliamentary Procedure will be
\napplied)
\n* Vote.
\n* Billy Koch will oversee the proposal and vote.
\nClose the Floor<\/p>\n

Once the vote is completed, the Transition Director assumes the role and
\ntakes over the meeting.<\/p>\n

Opens the floor<\/p>\n

Comments of the visual grid, mission statement, and constitution. (During
\nthat time ideas on Mission Statement and Constitution will be written and
\ndocumented)<\/p>\n

Close the floor<\/p>\n

* Billy Koch and Bradley Porche will make their last statement.
\n* Transition Director will make the last statement<\/p>\n
