Social Services Assist. Job<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nSalary – $12.39 – $15.17 Hourly. Commensurate with experience.<\/p>\n

Duties and Responsibilities<\/p>\n

Serves the deaf and hard of hearing clients and potential clients by
\nproviding program information, procedures and documentation requirements.
\nAssigns clients to appropriate caseworker or other social services staff and
\nrefers clients to appropriate internal and external social services
\nprograms.<\/p>\n

Answers telephone inquiries concerning program functions and documentation
\nrequirements. Refers clients to other agencies and community resources, as
\nrequired. Provides basic problem solving assistance to clients. May
\ncontact other social service providers to coordinate service
\ndelivery,schedule appointments, provide written referrals and schedule home
\nvisits. Performs administrative duties, such as providing information to
\nclients over the phone, preparing correspondence, processing incoming mail
\nfor case files, filing and ordering and stocking supplies.<\/p>\n

Enters data into the computer system to record information. Assists in
\ncompiling, monitoring, documenting and maintaining statistical and other
\ninformation and records. Participates in planning and implementing special
\nprojects.<\/p>\n

Minimum Requirements
\nAssociate’s degree in one of the Social or Behavioral Sciences AND one (1)
\nyear experience in social services with a high level of client contact;
\nOR,
\nAny combination of education and experience that has been achieved and is
\nequivalent to the stated education and experience and required knowledge,
\nskills, and abilities sufficient to successfully perform the duties and
\nresponsibilitiesof this job.<\/p>\n

Licenses, Registrations, Certifications, or Special Requirements:
\nValid Texas Driver\u2019s License.<\/p>\n

Preferred: *Fluency in American Sign Language<\/p>\n

Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM<\/p>\n

Work site: 2201 Post Road, Austin, Texas<\/p>\n
