Good News from International Deaf Communities: Bible Translations now in
\nKenya Sign Language and Kerala Sign Language!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kenya Sign Language launch follow-up: Nairobi, Kenya. Praise God for the 400
\nmembers of the Deaf community who attended the launching of 32 Bible stories
\nin Kenya Sign Language (KSL). The celebration took place on Saturday,
\nJanuary 16. Everything was done by Deaf people: the translation, videoing,
\nediting, graphics, duplicating and packaging. Click here to enjoy more
\ndetails and photos. Pray for Deaf Opportunity OutReach that has 6 other sign
\nlanguage translations in process: in the Philippines, Burundi, Ethiopia,
\nGhana, Uganda and Tanzania, with plans to start an American Sign Language
\n(ASL) translation. Wycliffe International is estimating there could be as
\nmany as 400 sign language translations needed in the future – a God-sized
\nproject.<\/p>\n

Kerala Sign Language launch follow-up: Kerala State, India. On January 30,
\nover 1200 Indians of the Deaf community celebrated* as an Indian Deaf
\ntranslation team dedicated God’s Word in Kerala Sign Language. The Deaf team
\nis made up of six men and two women, trained and equipped by Deaf
\nOpportunity OutReach (DOOR) and Wycliffe. They translated 32 carefully
\nselected foundational Bible passages onto a DVD and visual storyboard book.
\nDeaf translator Siji is confident the Good News will spread quickly amongst
\nthe 100,000 Deaf living in Kerala. Those continuing to pioneer sign language
\nBible translation throughout India ask for your prayers and support. With an
\nestimated 9 million Deaf in India there is still so much work to be done.<\/p>\n
