Praise God for the 400
members of the Deaf community who attended the launching of 32 Bible stories
in Kenya Sign Language (KSL). The celebration took place on Saturday,
January 16. Everything was done by Deaf people: the translation, videoing,
editing, graphics, duplicating and packaging. Pray for Deaf Opportunity OutReach that has 6 other sign
language translations in process: in the Philippines, Burundi, Ethiopia,
Ghana, Uganda and Tanzania, with plans to start an American Sign Language
(ASL) translation. Wycliffe International is estimating there could be as
many as 400 sign language translations needed in the future – a God-sized
project.

http://www.doorinternational.com/ (Deaf Opportunity OutReach)

Kerala Sign Language launch follow-up: Kerala State, India. On January 30,
over 1200 Indians of the Deaf community celebrated* as an Indian Deaf
translation team dedicated God’s Word in Kerala Sign Language. The Deaf team
is made up of six men and two women, trained and equipped by Deaf
Opportunity OutReach (DOOR) and Wycliffe. They translated 32 carefully
selected foundational Bible passages onto a DVD and visual storyboard book.
Deaf translator Siji is confident the Good News will spread quickly amongst
the 100,000 Deaf living in Kerala. Those continuing to pioneer sign language
Bible translation throughout India ask for your prayers and support. With an
estimated 9 million Deaf in India there is still so much work to be done.

*To read a more complete story and to see the celebration in a series of
slides, click here.

http://www.doorinternational.com/news/door-india-celebration

…the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will
teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.
