Volunteer Opportunities at DAC Education Program – DFW<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Deaf Action Center of Dallas, Texas is recruiting volunteers for its new
\nEducation Program. We are dedicated to eliminating barriers to persons who
\nare deaf or hard of hearing, and we are on a mission to help our students
\ndiscover and develop their talents. We want to prepare them for fulfilling
\ncareers or vocations. Join our Education Team in turning around the trend
\nthat leads them through high school into a void of uncertainty. Our
\nstudents are an untapped valuable resource. Support them. We start in
\nDallas. From Dallas, there is the world.<\/p>\n

If you are goal-oriented, committed to learning, have compassion for others,
\nand time to give, please contact me today. Must be influent in American Sign
\nLanguage. Please consider becoming a tutor for Deaf Action Center\u2019s
\nEducation Program.<\/p>\n

Education Volunteer Tutoring opportunities are open in the following areas:<\/p>\n

* Academics: math, reading, writing (English), history, science, biology
\n* Testing: GED
\n* Languages: American Sign Language (ASL)
\n* Others: Driver\u2019s Education, Computer<\/p>\n

Tutoring will take place at the Deaf Action Center. This is an ideal
\nopportunity for those of you with sign language skills, and for those of you
\nwho enjoy teaching. Your chosen career may be teacher for the deaf, sign
\nlanguage interpreter, police officer, doctor, lawyer, judge, engineer,
\nartist, business owner, manager or college professor. All careers are
\nwelcome. This is an ideal opportunity for anyone wanting to develop their
\nsigning skills, while assisting students. We\u2019re looking for positive role
\nmodels.<\/p>\n

All volunteers must complete a volunteer application and background
