We are dedicated to eliminating barriers to persons who<br \/>\nare deaf or hard of hearing, and we are on a mission to help our students<br \/>\ndiscover and develop their talents.  We want to prepare them for fulfilling<br \/>\ncareers or vocations.  Join our Education Team in turning around the trend<br \/>\nthat leads them through high school into a void of uncertainty.  Our<br \/>\nstudents are an untapped valuable resource.  Support them.  We start in<br \/>\nDallas.  From Dallas, there is the world.<\/p>\n<p>If you are goal-oriented, committed to learning, have compassion for others,<br \/>\nand time to give, please contact me today. Please consider becoming a tutor for Deaf Action Center\u2019s<br \/>\nEducation Program.<\/p>\n<p>Education Volunteer Tutoring opportunities are open in the following areas:<\/p>\n<p>* Academics:  math, reading, writing (English), history, science, biology<br \/>\n* Testing:  GED<br \/>\n* Languages:  American Sign Language (ASL)<br \/>\n* Others: Driver\u2019s Education, Computer<\/p>\n<p>Tutoring will take place at the Deaf Action Center.  This is an ideal<br \/>\nopportunity for those of you with sign language skills, and for those of you<br \/>\nwho enjoy teaching.  Your chosen career may be teacher for the deaf, sign<br \/>\nlanguage interpreter, police officer, doctor, lawyer, judge, engineer,<br \/>\nartist, business owner, manager or college professor.  All careers are<br \/>\nwelcome. This is an ideal opportunity for anyone wanting to develop their<br \/>\nsigning skills, while assisting students.  We\u2019re looking for positive role<br \/>\nmodels.<\/p>\n<p>All volunteers must complete a volunteer application and background<br \/>\nverification release form.
