Merritt Interpreting Services, LLC is seeking an Interpreter Coordinator for
\nour office in Dallas, Texas.<\/p>\n

Title: Interpreter Coordinator (full-time position)<\/p>\n

Position Summary: Responsible for the daily scheduling of interpreters &
\ngeneral administrative duties.<\/p>\n

Essential Duties:
\n* Schedule appropriate interpreter for interpreting requests received, with
\nregard to the client, language use and setting.
\n* Communicate assignment information to interpreter and confirm with client.
\n* Coordinate schedules of office staff and on-call interpreters.
\n* Field telephone calls and resolve questions or needs through scheduling
\nand advocacy.
\n* Maintain documentation related to requests and assignments.
\n* Perform general clerical duties to include, but not limited to:
\nphotocopying, faxing, mailing, and filing.
\n* Meet and greet clients and visitors.
\n* Research, price, and purchase office furniture and supplies.
\n* Assist with office projects such as workshops, trainings, advocacy, etc.
\n* Other duties as assigned.<\/p>\n

Requirements:<\/p>\n

Education:
\n_x_High School Diploma or Equivalent (Some college preferred)<\/p>\n

Course of study:
\n_x_ Specific: Courses in deafness and\/or ASL preferred, but not necessary.<\/p>\n

Experience:<\/p>\n

Experience with administrative duties and\/or deafness preferred.<\/p>\n

Skills and Abilities:<\/p>\n

The ideal candidate will have:<\/p>\n

_x_ communication skills
\n_x_ interpersonal skills
\n_x_ organizational skills
\n_x_ computer skills -fluency in Microsoft Office
\n_x_ other skills: Basic knowledge of Deaf culture, ASL, & the ADA<\/p>\n

Schedule:<\/p>\n

Expected office hours Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.<\/p>\n

Must have ability to meet deadlines efficiently and under pressure.<\/p>\n
