Literacy Tutoring for Students Who Are Deaf\/Hard of Hearing<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Literacy and Language Learning Clinic at Texas Woman’s University in
\nDenton offers reading and language tutoring with students who are deaf or
\nhard of hearing. Tutoring sessions are offered Monday, Wednesday and Friday
\nafter school for school-aged children. The tutoring sessions run 50 minutes.
\nThe number of weekly sessions can be individually arranged based on the
\nstudent’s needs.<\/p>\n

We offer a reading diagnostic assessment and literacy instruction. All the
\nsessions are supervised by a TWU faculty member who is a reading specialist
\nand experienced deaf educator. The tutors are TWU graduate students earning
\ndegrees in deaf education. They can communicate in sign language.<\/p>\n
