Douglas Ridloff was born and raised in Queens, New York. After earning a
\nM.A. in Deaf Education, Douglas went out and saw the world-Central America,
\nEurope, and Asia. Douglas saw that there is a universal sense of humor
\ncommunicated through body language and gesture. Thus emerged a new
\ncollection of \u201cblue\u201d jokes and stories that led to winning 1st place in ASL
\nLIVE! and 3rd place in Deaf Idol. He has defined himself as an ASL artist,
\ndoing stand-up comedy, ASL poetry and storytelling. Douglas also is
\nexploring the cinematic possibility of ASL while teaching ASL and Media at
\n\u201c47\u201d \u2013 The American Sign Language and English Secondary School. He lives in
\nNew York City with his wife, Lauren.<\/p>\n
