Deaf Self-Advocacy Training<\/strong><\/p>\n

This session is for people who are deaf or hard of hearing and use sign
\nlanguage. Participants will gain a stronger understanding of how to advocate
\nfor themselves, develop higher self esteem, understand the interpreter\u2019s
\nrole, and how to advocate for communication access services. Each session is
\nlimited to 20 participants.<\/p>\n

Trainers: Ann Horn and Randi Turner from the DARS \u2013 Office for Deaf and Hard
\nof Hearing Services.<\/p>\n

This is a 2 day training, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. You must be able to attend both
\ndays.<\/p>\n

These sessions are sponsored by the Department of Assistive and
\nRehabilitative Services, Office for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services. The
\nDSAT project was a collaborative effort to create a self advocacy training
\nfor communication access services. The project team consisted of the
\nNational Consortium of Interpreter Education Centers (NCIEC), Communication
\nService for the Deaf (CSD), and T.S. Writing Services, who collaborated with
