Her two year old deaf<br \/>\ndouble dapple dachshund is a certified pet therapy dog with the Delta<br \/>\nSociety.  He responds to over 35 sign language phrases\/commands.<\/p>\n<p>Course Content: Participants will learn how to effectively train their deaf<br \/>\ndogs in a fun, positive manner using sign language. Issues involved in<br \/>\nowning a deaf dog will be discussed: communicating with deaf dogs, proper<br \/>\nsocialization, safety, how to get a deaf dog&#8217;s attention when it is not<br \/>\nwithin reach, desensitization to reduce being startled, potty training,<br \/>\nobedience commands (sit, down, stay, leave it, drop it, etc), and good house<br \/>\nmanners.
