Local Church Offers Sign Language Instruction

Beginning Wednesday, September 6, 2006, Hampton Road Baptist Church of DeSoto is pleased to offer a class in Beginning ASL (American Sign Language). The course will provide participants with a beginning sign language vocabulary, knowledge of conceptual signing, and basic communication skills. Activities will be provided to help promote the student’s sign language skills. Textbook will be required and will cost approximately $30. This is the only fee for the course. This course is open to the public. The class will meet from 6:15 to 7:15 pm in Fellowship Hall Room A and will be taught by Pamela Clabaugh, who works as a deaf interpreter with Collin County Community College.
