…cordially invites members from the Deaf Community, in San Antonio, to participate in FREE self-defense training.
The training will be held at our school at 4163 Acorn Hill at the corner of Perrin Beitel, behind the Title Pawn. We will offer a children’s class for ages five to 16, which will be every Thursday from 4:30 P.M. to 5:30 P.M. and a Women’s self defense class which will be every Thursday from 5:45 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. The classes will start this Thursday, November, 16th, 2006.
The focus of the Children’s class will be on anti-abduction and bully defense. Children should wear appropriate clothes, i.e. sweat pants, shirts, sneakers, etc. Due to limited space, please, one parent only per child(ren).
The focus of the Women’s self-defense class will be on awareness, methods of escape, and incapacitating attacks (in life threatening situations). Women should also wear appropriate attire, to include a sports bra, etc.
Both classes will focus on the best means of defense for Deaf or Hard of Hearing individuals. If any ASL interpreters wish to attend, as well, please contact Patrick Brown for information, their classes will also be FREE. If there are any Deaf parents with hearing children with limited or low incomes please contact Patrick Brown for information.
Although this training is primarily for women and children, Deaf men may also be considered for FREE training, however, this will be discussed on a case by case basis.
