VSA arts of Texas creates Spring Break camp for students with disabilities

AUSTIN, TX – The VSA arts of Texas Spring Shuffle: Mixin’ It Up is just around the corner! Mark your calendars now so you won’t miss out! The Spring Shuffle is an arts emersion opportunity for students with disabilities ages 8 to 22. Each session incorporates music, movement, drama, and visual arts activities, providing a fun and engaging experience for all involved. Sessions also include parent welcome show & tell and reflection time to help participants better understand their experience and walk away with new insights and new skills through an enthusiastic arts approach!

The Spring Shuffle: Mixin’ It Up is based on the premise that the arts provide an excellent avenue for all individuals to develop new talents, increase self-esteem, enhance social skills and enjoy inclusive community, cultural and educational activities. VSA strongly believes in providing programs in an integrated setting, ensuring that individuals with special needs work side-by-side with their peers.

Spring Shuffle will be held Monday thru Friday, March 12-16, 2007 in the VSA arts of Texas multi-arts room located at 3710 Cedar Street, Suite #101 in Central Austin. Morning Session (9 am to 12 pm) includes music, movement & visual arts and Afternoon Session (1pm – 4 pm) includes Actual Lives Performance Project. Cost is $125 per session, or $225 for full day (both sessions).
